Port of Houston Receives Award from AAPA for Floating Trash Skimming Program

The American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) has given the Port of Houston Authority (PHA) an award for its development of a unique trash skimming program along the Buffalo Bayou, an important part of the regional watershed.

The Houston project, initially developed by Houston's Buffalo Bayou Partnership, was one of 152 entries submitted by 37 ports worldwide for consideration for the AAPA award.

PHA has prepared an informative report on this program to control "floatables".
