The Images of the Mon' prospectus is available at www.monartscenter.com and www.Mon RiverSummit.org.

The Monongahela River Recreation and Commerce Committee, in partnership with Monongalia Arts Center, will offer two free classes from 1-5 p.m. Oct. 11 at Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Park in Morgantown.

The classes are Plein Air Along the Mon River with local artist Michael Souch and Landscape Photography with local photographer Sue Amos, owner of Infinite Lens Photography. Plein Air participants should bring their own easels and paint supplies; photographers should bring a 35 mm or digital camera. Amos and Souch will meet participants at the amphitheater.

The classes are offered to encourage entries in the "Images of the Mon" art contest this spring in conjunction with the 2010 Mon River Summit on April 19 at the Waterfront Place Hotel. "Images of the Mon" entries will be on exhibit in the Davis Gallery of Monongalia Arts Center April 2-24.
