GRAFTON, W.Va. -- A developer says construction of a proposed
hydroelectric plant at Tygart Lake Dam could begin in 2012.
Fairlawn, Ohio-based Advanced Hydro Solutions wants to build a
28-megawatt hydroelectric plant at the dam in Taylor County.
Cliff Phillips with Advanced Hydro Solutions told West Virginia Public
Broadcasting that the company expects to get a license from the Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission in early 2012. Commercial operation could
begin before the end of 2013.
The company plans to meet Thursday in Bridgeport with state and local
officials to discuss studies it had to conduct before applying for a
license.
