Recreation sites at several lakes in the Pittsburgh area will be closed for Labor Day weekend because recent rainfall has raised the water levels, the Army Corps of Engineers announced Friday.

The boat ramps at Bow Ridge and Aultman's Run at Conemaugh Lake likely will remain closed throughout the weekend as will the boat launch and campground at the Bush Recreation Area at Loyalhanna Lake.

Tunnelville Beach and the Crooked Creek Lake boat launch at Crooked Creek Lake are expected to be closed through Monday while crews clean up near the pool. The beach is scheduled to close for the season on Monday.

The Doe Run Pleasant Creek Wildlife Management Area at Tygart Lake could reopen on Sunday.

At Youghiogheny Lake, part of the campground, the beach and launch ramp at the Mill Run Recreation Area will be closed through the holiday weekend as will the beach at walk-in tent sites. The Tub Run Campground, beach and walk-in tent sites, Spillway Recreation Area and beach at Youghiogheny Lake are also expected to be closed.
