RE: Point Marion Marina proposal for Point Marion Borough Council Federal Boating Infrastructure Grant

Dear Joe:

Our Board of Directors enthusiastically supports your excellent Point Marion Borough application for a Boating Infrastructure Grant. Point Marion has by far the best location for an Upper Mon marina to serve long-range recreational boaters. The nearby amenities that Point Marion can offer to tourist boaters are unequalled in the region from Fairmont WV to Fredericktown PA.

I note that your application refers to our August 2002 report, Transient Non-Trailerable Boat Facilities, a Plan for the Upper Monongahela in West Virginia. Feel free if you like to use our report as backup information for your proposal.

We, UMRA, are ready to assist you in any way we can short of donating funds. And, we will continue to keep in touch with you, Dennis Groce, and, Joe Cocalis, on integrating all regional efforts aimed at developing boating and other recreational resources on the Upper Mon in PA and WV.

Please also encourage the PA Fish & Boat Commission to visit our UMRA website.

Sincerely,

Donald Strimbeck, Secretary
Upper Monongahela River Association, Inc.
